Mass Underpass Mural

Fish of Lake Michigan

"Tribute to the Fish of Lake Michigan" is a public mural by Amanda Paulson painted in 2011. Located in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood on Pratt Ave under the CTA Red Line, the design was selected as part of the 49th Ward's Mass Underpass Mural Project. Her design celebrates Lake Michigan and its many native fish species that are an important natural resource and part of the world’s most highly traded food commodity.

Mass Underpass Mural

"Tribute to the Fish of Lake Michigan" is a public mural painted in 2011 — and my first design ever painted at such a large scale. Located in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood on Pratt Ave under the CTA Red Line, the design was selected as part of the 49th Ward's Mass Underpass Mural Project.

I created this mural to celebrate Lake Michigan and its many native fish species that are an important natural resource and commodity. Today, it has taken on a new meaning after the loss of my two younger brothers, Matt and Lee, who were avid fishermen.
